Question 16" rims on 2001 f-150??

I have a 2001 f-150 with stock goodyear gt/s tires. They are the 275's on 17" rims.

It seems in order to get a taller, wider tire without a lift, I can use another tire on 17" rim, which are *VERY* hard to find with aggressive tread that will be useful.

Instead, I am looking at trying 16" rims, with a slightly taller/wider goodrich AT/X tire.

Has anyone tried 16" rims?? will they fit/clear brake assembly?

Thanks...

Since the stock tire size is on a 16" rim without any upgrades, 16" rims will work just fine.
