99 Abs Discs

Im just amazed. It's been raining of and on for the past 2 weeks and I've tried to lock up my 4 wheel abs discs on all the different surfaces I could find. The Truck stops straight as a arrow every time and not one chirp. My old Bronco would definitely be swaping ends. Anyway If your going to get a new Truck the abs system works unreal and with the new rear discs, Well lets say it's a great combo. Thanks Ford.

Glad to hear that. The truck's braking capabilty had been criticized in the past. I have ordered a '99 F150 SC (should be here Friday) and was glad to learn that 4 wheel disk ABS were standard. Has anyone seen any road tests reviews (braking distance) for these new F-150s? Consumer Report only had tests for the 98 model (I'm not sure they had 4 wheel disks).

I have a 99' f-150 and my ABS light has came on twice, but went off overnight. And i had an Remote car Start/Alarm/Keyless Entry and it has been fixed 3 times already. Could the alarm be doing this? This is the first time I have ever had any problems with Ford. But the ABS works like you wouldnt believe!

Is this an aftermarket unit? A couple of months ago somebody had some electrical problems with his 150 after they installed a remote start unit.

When I bought my truck I refused to pay the outrageous price for their aftermarket alarm/keyless entry system. They removed it before delivery. Few months later I installed something or other and had taken the dash apart. I found they had left 15 feet of wire, several relays, and a fuse or two spliced into every wire imaginable under there. Took me hours to remove them all and patch the damage. I even had to add 6" of 6 or 8 ga. wire to correct one of their cuts on what appeared to be a very major power wire way up in the dash. It was an ugly, ugly day. Needless to say I am very careful in choosing the people I allow to wire, fix, or add anything to my truck. Some of the guys out there doing these things are butchers.
