new motor is installed on ac delete plate and installed in location under fender. the added depth of the cover will put the end of the motor very close to the inside of the fender well but it will fit.

i relocated the blower resistor underneath where the blower motor mounts. directly behind is the air inlet so the resistor will be kept cool. i also installed the temp sensor even though you don't need it. the wires reached without a problem.

here is the cover installed with the plastic packing still on it. when you are doing this project is a good time to change out your heater core ! might want to think about doing it. make sure to add some sealant between the cover and the firewall. also don't over tighten the cover since it might crack.

i wish i knew i had to grind down the edge of the door when i had the air box out to replace the heater core. it would have been much easier and look much better. my grinder would not fit behind the engine so i ended up using my craftsman rotary tool. it took about 3 hours to get it down.

don't forget the sealant around the motor. also the delete plate is not quite exact so the manifold cooling tube will not reach the manifold. i ended up connecting it together with some super 88 tape

use the ground terminal from the old installation. might want to scratch it up with some sand paper to make sure you have a good connection.

notice that you have to drill your own holes for the blower motor and the little manifold. use a 1" hole saw for the manifold. make sure to save your hardware from the old one.
